World Events: Support for Students

Support For Students
Posted on 10/12/2023

We're profoundly moved and saddened by the recent events in Israel and Palestine, a tragedy that hits close to home for some in our community. Our hearts go out to anyone touched personally, extending compassion to those with family or friends in the affected area.

The deluge of images and reports on the news and social media can be overwhelming, especially for our children. We urge parents to be attentive to what their children are exposed to online and to be there for them, providing comfort and clarification as needed.

Support is available within our community. Our counselors and social workers at Mount Sinai are ready to assist, and additional resources are provided below. If your child is struggling, encourage them to connect with a trusted teacher or counselor.

Together, let’s safeguard and support the mental and emotional well-being of our children during these troubling times, ensuring they feel seen, heard, and cared for. Every child's well-being is our collective responsibility, and in unity, we'll navigate through this challenging period.
