A message from the Board of Education…

The Board of Education is pleased to announce that Dr. Christine Criscione has been appointed as the Superintendent of the Mt. Sinai UFSD effective July 1, 2023; she will succeed Mr. Gordon Brosdal who served the District as its Chief Executive Officer for nine years.
Dr. Criscione served the Sayville UFSD as its Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Staff Development for six years prior to her agreement to undertake the Superintendency of the Mount Sinai UFSD.
Dr. Criscione resides in Suffolk County with her husband and children and looks forward to serving the Mount Sinai community at large in leading the District’s educational mission--providing its student population with as varied and meaningful educational experience as possible. She is highly regarded by her peers and stood out among a large group of candidates as the most qualified for the District’s highest position.
The Board of Education welcomes Dr. Criscione and firmly believes that she will provide the leadership, direction, and supervision to the District that will enhance our robust academic and extracurricular experiences.
