Superintendent's Goodbye Message

From the Superintendent

January 2023

Dear Mount Sinai Community,

Before I was appointed as Superintendent of the Mount Sinai School District in July 2014, I dreamed of working in and for this community. After working for 44 years in large districts, I welcomed the opportunity to be associated with a district that was comprised of just three buildings located on one extremely attractive campus. I also looked forward to working shoulder to shoulder with a talented and professional staff that made this district the success story that it is and the recipient of two National Blue-Ribbon Awards. A district is only as good as the community it serves, teachers, directors, administrators and support staff that come to work everyday to provide our students with what they need to be successful in school, in college and in life. It was a wonderful experience to discover so many of my former students, who sat in my English class, living in Mount Sinai and enjoying what its schools have to offer.

Now I am finishing my last year in Mount Sinai. My contract expires June 30, 2023. I leave with sadness and gratitude. These last nine years have been the best years of my career and I will cherish them always, and all of you are responsible for that. I do not plan on retiring and I know there are new challenges ahead for me, as there will be new challenges ahead for the Mount Sinai School District.

I want to thank the community for demonstrating faith in me and trusting me with the care and education of your children for nine years. No matter where I go, or what I do, the Mount Sinai School District will remain forever in my heart.

With Gratitude,

Gordon Brosdal
Mount Sinai Superintendent of Schools
